Jeff Tedesco

 has been taking care of maintenance at Sunrise Seniors Place for  several years and takes great pride in the building and the community. He ensures that every aspect of maintenance is always taken care of.

With his attention to detail, Jeff ensures every tenant has a safe and secure place to call home.

Natalie Robertson 

Natalie brings  30 years of experience in finance and administration. Always active in the community surrounding Sunrise, she takes special interest in the tenants here, ensuring that she is always available to them.

Megan Vanstone 

is the newest member of the team, joining in 2023. She brings  experience in tenant relations  and administration to the table. Always making sure tenants are her first priority with her compassion 

and dedication she is a great team leader.

Corine Brettell 

joined the Board in 2021. She is an RN who spent many years as an executive director at a nonprofit housing organization which brings valuable insight to the team.  Corine's strong management skills paired with her compassion for others makes her an excellent fit for our Board.

Harvey Mitchell 

has been on the Board since 2019. Harvey is a retired senior financial analyst from IBM. His attention to detail ensures the financials at Sunrise are very accurate and in good standing. His willingness to help others enhances our team.

Jon Rowan 

joined the board in 2021. He has diverse experience with the Durham Regional Police, an officer of over 25 years. His ability to deal with situations under pressure, knowledge of the law and desire to advocate for the senior population add a strong balance to our Board.

David Sarookanian 

joined the Board in 2022. He is creative and passionate. His negotiation and communication skills strengthen our team.

Garth Johns 

joined the Board of Directors in 2020. He has more than 40 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the municipal and health care sectors.  Additionally, Garth has served on many boards in the nonprofit sector.  As Past President of Sunrise, he adds tremendous value to our Board.

Dan Harding 

joined the Board in 2022. His extensive experience as Supervisor of Facilities for Oshawa Public Libraries and knowledge of building systems are extremely helpful to our maintenance department.  Dan is passionate about helping others and giving back to his community, making him ideal for our Board.

 Janice Bowser 

oversees the rent calculations for our subsidised members, along with the daily activities of the office. Janice has many years of experience in social housing. 

 Our experienced maintenance staff keeps the property in tip top shape at all times.  Members of the Co-op also pitch in as needed.

 The board’s primary objective is to provide direction to the organization. The board of directors is elected by the membership.
